For 25 years, I ran Flatstack, a software development company. We built alongside a client from its early software transformation through the growth of a serious company; it was eventually acquired for $1 billion.

Two years ago, I closed Flatstack because I could see AI would change how software gets made.

It has. A small team can now build a credible first release in a fraction of the time and cost the old model required. The hard parts still matter: deciding what to build, making good decisions and staying close enough to shape it.

This is not generic AI consulting, and it is not the traditional agency model. I do the work, but I do it with you. You see how I use tools such as Lovable and Codex, how I make product decisions, how I work through problems and how I move from an idea to something real.

The goal is not to make you dependent on me. It is to give you working software, the source code, project access and enough practical knowledge to keep building after I step away.

How an engagement works.

    Define the first release

    We start with a working session, the material you have and a clear agreement on the first useful release.

  2. 02

    Build the first version

    I build that release with modern AI-assisted tools. Judgment about what not to build matters as much as the tools.

  3. 03

    Refine it together

    Three collaborative revision rounds—usually recorded Zoom or in person—improve the product and make the process practical training.

  4. 04

    Hand over the keys

    You receive the source code, project access and handoff materials, plus 30 days of support for the delivered scope. New features are separate work.

Engagements start at $10,000.

That is a minimum engagement, not a promise that every software project costs $10,000. Before we begin, we agree on the first-release scope, timing and fee. Larger or more complex builds cost more.
